| Gatlinburg is a small town in the Smoky Mountains. Gatlinburg has
a German type atmosphere and is best known for the huge numbers of
shopping opportunities and the night life. Everything from mountain
soap and candles to fine art can be found in the never ending list
of shops, crafts and galleries. Walking is the preferred method of
transportation in Gatlinburg, as there is little area for street parking.
Parking is available in several "pay" parking lots, but riding
the shuttle service is a much more attractive and economical way to
travel to this mountain town. Gatlinburg is home to many attractions.
A museum of cars that were used in famous movies, a winery, stables
with guided horse rides through the Smoky Mountains, mini golf, laser
tag, Earthquake Ride, walking tours through Smoky Mountain trails and
more. Ripleys Aquarium is quite famous here and is a must see for sure.
The aquarium is the most visited aquarium in the country and has many
fantastic exhibits of marine life and other aquatic wonders. Gatlinburg
features skiing (early December - mid March) and indoor ice skating.
